Recipes Using Garbanzo Beans Flour

French Toast Recipe

Ingredients

  • ½ cup garbanzo bean flour
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¾ cup vegan milk
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp oil or vegan butter
  • ¼ cup maple syrup

Directions

  • Mix garbanzo bean flour, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and sugar in a shallow bowl.
  • Add vegan milk and vanilla extract and stir it well. Mix until no lumps remain.
  • Put butter in the bottom of a skillet, turn to medium-low flame, and allow the pan to warm up while you dip the bread.
  • Dip the bread slices into the batter and allow it to sit for 10 seconds.
  • Transfer the bread slices to the skillet and fry for about 2-3 mins until the bottom is golden brown. Turn and brown the other side.
  • Serve the French toast hot with maple syrup and butter.

Chickpea Flour Vegan Milk Shake

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp ghee
  • 2 tbsp garbanzo beans flour
  • 2-4 cashews/ almonds
  • 2 cups almond milk
  • 1 tsp cardamom powder
  • 2 strands of saffron (optional)
  • 1 tbsp honey

Directions

  • Take a saucepan and melt the ghee in it. Fry the nuts and take them out.
  • Add in the garbanzo beans flour and roast on very low flame till it turns slightly brown.
  • Add in the ¼ cup milk and whisk to make a roux lump-free. Add in the remaining milk and whisk it well.
  • Add cardamom and saffron. Cook till the mixture simmers and is slightly thickened.
  • Switch off the flame and add honey and fried nuts, Serve warm.

Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

  • 25 grams cocoa powder
  • 110 grams garbanzo bean flour
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp vanilla powder
  • ¼ tbsp sea salt
  • 80 grams coconut oil/ honey
  • 2 cups of Greek yogurt.
  • 100 grams dark chocolate

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 320°F. Place a large cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  • Add cocoa powder, flour, baking soda, and salt to a mixing bowl. Stir it evenly.
  • Take another dish and mix coconut oil, maple syrup, and egg. Whisk it well
  • Mix the mixture into the prepared flour. Mix until no streaks of flour remain. Stir in the chocolate to evenly incorporate.
  • Using a cookie scoop, scoop cookie dough and release it onto the prepared cookie sheet spaced 2 inches apart.
  • Bake cookies for about 8-10 minutes until the tops are cracked.
  • After cookies are done, let it cool and set before removing it from the cookie sheet.
  • Enjoy the ultimate bites of healthy chocolate cookies.

Hummus

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup garbanzo bean flour
  • 2-3 minced garlic cloves
  • ¼ cup vegetable broth
  • ¼ cup Tahini
  • ¼ cup lemon juice
  • 2 ½ cups water
  • ½ tbsp ground cumin
  • Salt & Pepper (as per taste)
  • ¼ cup olive oil

Directions

  • Bring water to boiling on medium heat.
  • Whisk the garbanzo flour into the boiling water. Keep stirring for 1 min constantly on medium heat.
  • Turn heat to medium-low and continue cooking for 5 mins. Let it cool.
  • Blend the garbanzo mixture with garlic, broth, and lemon juice in a blender until smooth. Then add the cumin, salt, pepper and slowly pour the olive oil.
  • If the mixture gets too stiff, add more broth to get the desired consistency.
  • Keep it in a bowl and cover it with plastic. Let it sit for at least 1 hour at room temperature.
